Safety Notice

Your safety as an exhibitor at our show is very important to us. We ask for your co-operation in ensuring there is a clear way for emergency vehicles all the way around the show field. Parking restrictions will be in place on the show day, please respect the instructions of our stewards.

DOG SECTION

Important Notice

Due to The Eyrecourt Agricultural Show not taking place this year, we are unable to run our Native Breeds Class in this years dog show. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this and for the short notice.

 

The year we at the Royal Meath Dog Show are delighted to announce that Julie Holmes from Tag n’Rye Dog Services will open our show with an obedience demonstration and display. Julie and her team will start their skills display at 12.30 pm and following on from this they will have a Q & A session with members of the public. If you have any questions/queries/general wonderings regarding behavioural issues your dog may have, pop over to the Dog Show ring and watch Julie and her team in action!

Following on from Julie and her team, the Royal Meath Dog Show 2017 will commence at 1.30 pm sharp. Registrations will be taken on the day from 12.00 midday.

A1 Boarding Kennels, based in Navan, Co. Meath have come on board this year and have sponsored the specially commissioned plaques that will be presented to Champion Dog & Reserve Champion Dog on the day of the dog show.

Paws A While are a dedicated local Veterinary practice based in Navan and Trim. We are always delighted to have them back with us year after year, and they will also be running an “Ask the Vet” tent ringside to the dog show. If you have any questions or queries regarding your dog, please come along and the vets on duty will be more than happy to help you out.

Class 9.  Puppy Group, 3 months - 1 year old

Class 10.  Veteran Group, dogs over 8 years

Class 11.  Best Junior Handler under 8 years

Class 12.  Best Junior Handler under 15 years

1st, 2nd & 3rd place rosettes awarded in each class.

Specially Commissioned sashes, plaques and rosettes will be presented to Champion Dog and Reserve Champion Dog. Plaques presented to Champion Dog and Reserve Champion Dog are very kindly sponsored by A1 Kennels based in Navan, Co Meath. All dogs who place first in each class will be eligible for Best in Show.

This year, as always we will have our Discover Dogs Tent, where you can get up close and personal with four beautiful dogs, all different breeds. This year we present to you:

  • Bernese Mountain Dogs
  • Dalmatians
  • Norfolk Terriers
  • Shar-Pei

 

 

 

If you have any questions or queries regarding the Kennel Clubs, breeding etc, please come along and have a chat with the breeders and their dogs.

  1. Entries taken on the day from 12 midday – 1.30pm
  2. €3 per dog per class, €5 to enter two classes.
  3. All dogs must be on leads,& must be under full control of their owners, at all times. All dog owners are liable for any damage caused by their dog.
